Does Orange Cube support which one DroneCAN, CAN FD, or normal CAN?

Hello everyone,

I need some clarification regarding the CAN capabilities of the Orange Cube (CubePilot).

We are planning to connect peripherals using CAN and would like to know:

  1. Does the Orange Cube support normal CAN (Classical CAN 2.0)?
  2. Does it support CAN FD (Flexible Data-rate CAN)?
  3. Does it fully support DroneCAN (the new UAVCAN v1.0 implementation)?
  4. In cube orange which CAN firmware is supported?

Any detailed information about maximum supported bitrates, compatibility with DroneCAN specifications, and real-world experience would be very helpful.

This documentation says it’s standard CAN on the cubes, so I assume they don’t support CAN FD: System Architecture | CubePilot .

DroneCAN is a high-level software CAN protocol on top of the CAN protocol that is supported by Ardupilot and PX4 that run on the Cubes, so yes, DroneCAN is supported on the Cubes.

@philip Do you know if the Cubes are planned to support CAN FD in the future?
