Which compass to use?

We have a newly designed hex that uses the cube black and two Here2 gps units. We first had both board compasses and one external compass enabled and it would constantly fail the compass calibration. We disabled the two board compasses and enabled both external compasses and it works fine. Is there anything wrong with this option or should we try to also enable one of the board compasses and get it to calibrate?

Thank you,
Brad

To the last of my knowledge your current configuration is what was typically recommended. Technically, you only need one, but if you got two externals with good cals, then you have a measure of redundancy. Inside compass is prone to noise in tight spaces, and often times gets disabled. You can read more about this in the wiki.

Todd, thank you for your response, I think I’ll just stick with the two external then.

Definitely the two external is best
