Hello!
Here at AAV we are going to focus on three competitions, one is SUAS and the other two are triple challenges created by NIST. We are planning on creating 2 Quads and 1 VTOL plane and are in the build phase. We are also planning on rebuilding our GCS to use the RTK technology! Pictures incoming soon!

Been a while since our last post - so we wanted to update you on how our season/year went!
To start off - we achieved 6th Place at the AUVSI SUAS Competition! We also garnered $15,000 in prize money via our success in the UAS Triple Challenge!
Our success at the AUVSI SUAS competition was highly supported by the reliability and performance of the Cube Orange on-board our UAV and UGV. Both systems performed their autonomous functions with no issues - flying at speeds of up to 45MPH with an average of 2m GPS accuracy (aided by the Here 3 GPS module).
Components of the UAS were as follows:
18" XOAR Propellers, KDE 360kv Motors, KDE 55A ESCs
Cube Orange Autopilot with Here 3 GPS
RFD900x Communications
Kore Carrier Board
T-Motor 30Ah 6s SS LiPo Battery
Custom Airframe
Custom UGV and Winch Payload
Specs of the UAS were:
950mm Motor Span
6.75KG AUW (w/ UGV and Winch)
45+ Minute Flight Time
Max Tested Speed of 50MPH
Here is a drive link to a bunch of pictures and videos we took throughout the year (build, flight, etc.)
Thank you to CubePilot for sponsoring us with the Cube Oranges, Here 3s, and Here Pros. We plan to also incorporate a Herelink into our system for our aircraft next year - further embracing the CubePilot ecosystem.
