Is it okay to remove the Air Module’s outer casing and heat sink?
Would it pose a problem with respect to heat dissipation?

No, you cannot operate without a heatsink
you can design a replacement that serves the same purpose however
I see. Would it be okay to provide active cooling with a fan if there is no heat sink?
I am interested in this primarily from a form factor and weight point of view. The heat sink seems to be close to half the weight of the air module.
@philip Is there a way to get access to the heatsink model of the bottom half CAD?
Or is the only way to redesign a heatsink simply to take apart the unit ourselves and measure?
