Android version 7.1.2 is pretty old (API 25 I think). I was wondering if there are any plans to update the android version on the herelink blue. QT 6.10 has a minimum API version of 28 (Android 9), so I was curious if that’s on the bucket list.
The hardware does not support a newer version of Android, however the Herelink programs do not need a newer version of Android to run.
You can still build QGC that will run on the current Android version. We are testing a QGC Version for Herelink based off of QGC 5.0.8
Is that QGC version for Herelink being tested based on QT 6.10 or above?
The software I work on supports multiple ground control stations, so I intentionally have not used the herelink QGC fork because that would pigeonhole our software into the herelink ecosystem. I am also hesitant to use a lower QT version than what upstream QGC uses because I think it would be a maintenance nightmare.
Yes
Is the Herelink v1.0 compatible with QGC v5.0.x ….
thank you in advance
Not 5.1.x but 5.0.8.x
There is still a quirky issue that can happen when switching HDMI feeds on the Air unit, but we are working on it.
Thank you for the feedback.
Which version of QGC fully works for both HDMI 1 And HDMI 2 ports.
The 4.0.8 version originally installed at the factory.
If you would like to help get QGCv5 working, the code is here: GitHub - CubePilot/qgroundcontrol-herelink · GitHub
Regarding the video that is recorded using the Herelink QGC v5.0.8 , Is there any special decoder for the gstream to play the .mkv video file . Tried many tools and repairs online , it simply doesn’t work !
@CraigElder …..
i think the root cause of the issue is Airlink receiver , transmitting the HDMI video to the GCS in 1080S instead of the original 1080P resolution . I able to view some frames after using GSTREAMER repair command line
