I’m having an issue regarding the new beta Cube Reds.
I’ve have noticed a lack of response on multiple of the ports on the base of the cube red, namely the GPS1 and Telem2 ports. When a Here1 GPS or the provided external safety switch is plugged in, the LEDs do not light up at all, in spite of the fact that I have tested that the 5V power line on the device is connected and correctly providing 5V. When using an updated CAN-based Here4 GPS, I find that the GPS is able to turn on and connect to the Cube Red just fine, and I have set the NTF_LED_TYPES parameter to 231 in Mission Planner as referenced in the here4 manual. Still, when the external hardware safety switch is plugged into GPS1, it neither lights up nor operates as a safety switch, as its operation results in no observed change in Mission Planner. Notably, I have tested with several different switches and on several different cubes, and the same safety switches and GPSs that aren’t working on any the Cube Reds work on the Cube Orange+ just fine.
The Telem2 port similarly shows no response, as any receivers or RFD900 devices plugged in do not get powered or respond to attempted binds from transmitters. I have once again tested with a multimeter and seen that there is a 5V difference between the power and ground pins when tested with the device unplugged.
I’m hoping that this is simply a case of a missing parameter or a mistake in my Cube setup procedure. I’ve tried several parameter changes, and reflashing the Cube with new firmware but no luck, including changing from the primary to secondary flight controller in the Cube Red.
I am using: Mission Planner 1.3.81, with Arducopter Firmware version V4.5.7 OFFICIAL.
