Many thanks MadRC. I see no one replied to GlidLov and his points on the standby mode.

I don’t know a lot about this my self but I’ll have a play as it’s very interring areas.

Quite simply, Git isn’t the place for discussion.

Git is just where the specific code is discussed

Forums like this are where ideas can be fleshed out.

GlidLov makes some valid points, but they are not relevant to the standby mode specifically.

Designing a 100% fully redundant aircraft is the job of the aircraft designer.

How they choose to make each section safe, is up to their risk assessment.

Standby mode does one thing, and does it well. It keeps the backup autopilot ready to take over when commanded.

There are many many ways to make a fully redundant system, the trick is proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is so, and that there are no corner cases.
