Herelink Updates

There are 2 main version out in the wild, the original herelink 1.0 firmware , and herelink 1.1 firmware.

a herelink 1.0 firmware is only compatible with 1.0 units
a herelink 1.1 firmware is compatable with 1.0 and 1.1 hardware, but will not pair/talk if the firmware versions are mixed up.

how to tell.
if the Airunit firmware version is AAU01211129, this is a 1.0 firmware.
if the Airunit firmware version is AU01230714, this is a 1.1 compatible firmware.

if the GCS unit firmware version starts with RU0121… This is a 1.0 firmware, and will talk only to a 1.0 firmware Air unit.
if the GCS unit firmware version starts with RU0123 or RU0124, this is a 1.1 compatible firmware.

As shipped all these version would have matched.

however if you factory restore a unit using flasher_… then this will likely update it to the 1.1 level firmware. This was done to ensure existing units wont be force to update when not required.

How to fix any issues.
case 1.
i have a GCS with a RU0123/RU0124 = 1.1
i have a Airunit with a AU0121 = 1.0
update the air unit with “flasher_win.exe beta”

case 2.
i have a GCS with RU0121 = 1.0
i have a Airunit with AU0123/AU0124 = 1.1
subscribe to the beta updates on the GCS, to update it to a 1.1 compatible firmware.

I currently have the Herelink GCS with firmware version 1.1 installed, but I need to downgrade it to version 1.0. Could you please provide detailed instructions on how to perform this downgrade? I am using a Mac for this process.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Thanks for the info @Michael_Oborne, great to know the latest versions.

Can you give any timeline or info on when we may see an update that will update the versions of Solex and QGC to a more recenet version? This would be really usefull as I currenly can’t upgrade AruCopter on my hex because as far as I can tell the mavlink commands for gimbal control have been updated to support dual gimbals, but these are not recognised by the older versions of QGC or Solex.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Where do you get the “flasher_win.exe beta”?
I have downloaded flasher 3 times from this link: How To Update Firmware | CubePilot
and everytime I run it on my air unit it has the old AAU01211129 firmware listed not the AU01230714 as the one I need.

On my herelink the local version says AAU01211129 and online version AU01230714 , but the Download Air firmware is greyed out. How do I upgrade the air unit?

I try “Update this app” and it downloads then immeidatly opens QGC. I am getting telemetry info in QGC but no sbus and a radio failsafe and the joysticks do not work in QGC even after calibration. I keep getting an error “l” in qgc as well…

My hand unit is RU01240301

Hi my remote is a 1.0 hardware version (the one that didnt have the LCD brightness upgrade) and the air unit is the newer 1.1

Theoretically it should work together as long as I down grade the air unit to a 1.0…am I correct ?

I can’t seem to find the software to use to manually flash a firmware file of my choosing also where do I find the library where I can choose to download older firmwares?

Regards,

Chris

Hi I have Case 1
case 1.
i have a GCS with a RU0123/RU0124 = 1.1
i have a Airunit with a AU0121 = 1.0

Where do I download flasher_win.exe beta???
Why not have flasher_win_1.0.exe and flasher_win_1.1.exe?
This will save alot of issues

I have been stuck on trying to get my sbus working for days on end and it has become frustrating.
