OSD module for CUBE FC's

Hi,
Can anybody recomend an OSd module that supports the message set from CUBE Orange, in particular mesages such as battery 2 voltage/current, GPs2 etc. ?

i have the Radiolink connected at moment but only one EN character set available which does not display the symbols and can only select basic messages.

Thinking of trying the Holybro OSD v2 but it looks to be the same technology and config software.

What are people using these days?

Thanks

Hey Stephen!
Google MinimOSD. You’ll find lot of them.
This is the link for setting it up!

Thanks Malik,

The Radiolink thing I’ve got is basically one of those but seems locked to it’s own config tool, others cannot read the bootloader.

I’ve order this one today

I’m hoping it runs either KV Team/RUSH or Minim-OSD Extra firmware and config GUI
and… then hoping it picks up all the messages.

I’ll post up the results

The last time I used OSD was in 2013.
Anyways, keep me posted!

I’m using MWOSD on a MinimOSD. It’s really easy to setup. Check it out.

Hi, just had a look through this, It’s certainly come on a long way since I last uused it, about 2015 if my grey matter serves me well.
I’ll load it up tomorrow,
Thank you

Steer clear of anything radiolink, they tend to do things their own way, which screws with compatibility.

The mavlink OSD for Hobbyking works, and it’s very small. It works with the Nightghost mavlink firmware - dont use the PX4 version.

Agreed, It’s in the trashcan already.
Holybro unit being delivered tomorrow :+1:

Thanks
It looks the same/similiar hardware as the Holybro unit
I’ve got the Nightghost firmware ready togo on it

Stephen,

I really feel your pain on OSD for Pixhawk and Cube. I am an Eagletree Vector FC user and the OSD on this FC is what I would consider the “Gold standard”. Unfortunately, Eagletree has gone out of business and I am switching to Pixhawk, but cannot find an OSD (that is available anymore) with the features/capabilities. The ones mentioned on this thread are all, unfortunately, very very poor. I certainly would be interested in finding one that is available.

The one that I like, but I am not sure is available is XtremeOSD: http://www.xtremecopters.com/home/index.php/products/ct-menu-item-5/xtreme-osd

Another that looked promising is AlceOSD: https://sites.google.com/site/alceosd/get-one

But I am not sure if any of these companies are selling anymore. It seems like the OSD market for FPV is disappearing.

Chris

we are following here with interest. we cannot get the OSD chip anymore, so cannot do the Minim style unit, if we did one, it would need to be a completely new system

Digital Micro Devices is worth looking into. I use there equipment on the Cube Black and Orange with great results.
