SOLVED (sort of). With a little persistence and a little luck, I got it out without disassembling anything, but I suspect it could happen again, so tips still welcome.

The SD chip in my Cube seems a little gummed up and won’t pop out far enough for me to pull it the rest of the way, even with needlenose pliers. Looks like if I remove the Cube from the carrier board it might be easier, but I’m not sure how that’s done — is it secured somehow? I see screws on the side of the board but hesitate to open it unless I’m sure it’s right thing to do in this case.
