Thanks. Seems that not many people sell this plug!
Can I solder on marked copper layer in below picture to supply power for the air unit. Is this copper layer steady?
After this accident I have some suggests about options in APM firmware (Sorry if it has had).
I think need to have some options after plane RTH enforce in case of lost control, target to landing safety.
First, that is time for plane descends altitude to safe altitude after RTL and loiter at home point.
Second, that is option about altitude plane will go to
Third, after that, have some options for plane to cut off motor or descending altitude while still circling till landing!
…
Just receivered this one micro HDMI cable 0,3 m and tested, it works well.

Hi, I haven’t tried yet but does herelink transmits 2 hdmi videos at once and how can we switch on qgroundstation?
Hi, I am planning to buy HereLink for long range QuadCopter. Actually I am making it for an industrial client, and their demand is HD video link with the range of at least 12km.
While doing some research on the authenticity of the 20km range(in FCC mode) as claimed by HereLink, I found this guy’s youtube video, and it made me very happy:
but as I continued my research I found some very depressing range results by few guys. Like the link below:
this guy only manages up to 1600 feet, which equals only 0.48km. Similarly few guys got up to 1-to-2km range and started having problems in the video link.
Now, since yesterday, I started to have doubts about this product
Banme_RC is the only ray of hope for me here. Because he is getting improved range steadily using different testing and antenna configurations. But still this product is not giving even half of the claimed range (as per my research goes). I really appreciate the efforts done by Banme_RC. So sad his air unit got damaged. I hope he was able to repair it and hope that the heated air unit was not a big problem.
In conclusion, i will say that I am all confused, whether should I spend in this HereLink system or wait for more test results by you guys??? If I buy and did not get the required 12km range, then I am in deep trouble and it will be extremely embarrassing for me and my stain my reputation, as I will not able to satisfy my client requirements. So plz guide me or at least give me hope that HereLink is capable of delivering 12Km range.
Also i want to know whether HereLink is still in beta stage of the system has matured and is stable?
Good news is I fixed my air unit successfully, It was only slightly damage (antenna and power cable). So I will come back in flight test soon (still test stage, lol).
In actualy, I managed to fly my herelink system far away 10 km, but at high altitude and low quanlity (under 500 kbs), this is quite bad for 20 km FPV HD system!
Recently I discover that herelink air unit antennas are very sensitive to jamming objects, it is metal, carbon fiber, electronics such that ubec, esc, motor, power module, and especially is HDMI cable!!!
I think Mad could reach 16 km range in his test because his system was very simple (that was not flyable system). With one flyable system, you have to load on in a lot of things that cause interference!
Only two things I can to improve the range and quanlity of video stream is reduce interference and improve omni antena (or both)! First thing is not easy with quadcopter because space is limited!
Yes i guess u r right, there is no ESC, Motor or high current electromagnetic interference in Mad’s setup, and its just a neat clean herelink demo only. But again that demo is just a semi ideal situation and most of the uav pilots aren’t going to have such conditions on their drone.
But in my case i will try to design quadcopter in such away that all interfering things like: ESC, battery and other high frequency & high current devices sealed between te two thick (2mm thick) carbinfiber plates. (I am talking about the center plates of a quadcopter.) Also i am going to use 12s system with 90kv big pancake style motors and 35 inch propellers to limit the high currents. Motors and ESCs will be mounted about 600mm away from the center of the quadcopter to reduce the interference even further, may be wrap the ESC’s in aluminium foil . And i will mount the antenna vertically below the lower center Carbonfiber plate, lower enough that even if the quadcopter tilts or rolls still no motor comes in the line of sight between air unit antenna and the transmitter.
My flight height will be about 500 meter so i am not worried about any interfering object to disturbe the direct line of sight. If i still dont get the range then i am going to use a reasonable wattage WiFi repeater and enhance the signal strength to achive the solid HD video link. If still not getting the range then i will add directional antenna with the wifi repeater… after that much effort i should get the required range. ???
Few years back, I used this WiFi repeater on simple 7-Channel RC transmitter (2.4GHz):
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/705912287.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4deQIa0d
And I got the RC range of up to 3km, never risked testing the full range, because my client only needed the 3km range. So if an ordinary RC transmitter that barely has about 1km range can have a three times increase in range then I guess I will see a lot of improvements HereLink range.? Secondly my other concern is that whether the WiFi repeater has enough data speed that it will not slow down the HD video, because here link antenna is transmitting a lot of information i.e., R/C control, Telemetry Data & HD video, I guess that’s too much data all being transmitted through single 2.4GHz channel. Will this WiFi repeater be able to handle all that data without any delays or problems etc? What you guys say?
Sorry for the many long messages, but guys plz try to share your views on my earlier comment too.
What u guys say?
Keep your antennas a long way from conducting items and you will be happy with the range.
How much away? My whole quadcopter frame will be made of carbonfiber, i plan to hang the antennas as lower as the antenna wires alow, may be near the end of the long landing gear. Will try to use glass fiber landing gear. That’s practically the maximum possible antenna distance that i can manage… will it do the job philip?
no replies by anyone so far
Sorry for my bad english not many vocabularies to say much!
I think with such that big quadcopter you build, will have many chances to set antennas far away from conducting objects, so don’t worry about that.
Herelink works very stable with QGC firmware, but I really dont like its interface, and it cant record video onboard!
I will not say more about the range of herelink, I dont know what condition producer tested the range, but I think it is ideal condition!
About ampiler you said, it is not problem to work with both video, telemetry. Some booster devices used for DJI drone that use sunhans amplier, it is very effective for expanding the range of dji drone.
I have seen another product with everything same as HereLink, its name is “TeleLink”. Only a minor shape is changed in the air unit of the TeleLink, rest is the same.
I have been in contact with a seller in china, who deals with CUAV TeleLink. I complained the seller that this TeleLink is same as HereLink but there is not tutorial video or online helping material for TeleLink. The seller replied that their product (TeleLink) is recently launched, its new in the market that’s why there is not much information about it yet. The seller also said that there are few problems in the HereLink that they have fixed in the TeleLink, then I asked the seller to tell me some specific problems that HereLink has and TeleLink fixed it? The seller said that she needs to contact her technician, and the next day she(seller) said: "We have changed the air unit antenna, and the communication is more stable and the distance is farther, what we test is 20 km from the ground to the sky is no problem"
She also added that they have their own firmware in the TeleLink. She said both TeleLink and HereLink are made by a company known as Big Fish.
Anybody got any experience of TeleLink, it might be better than the current HereLink, new and improved, bug free?
@Banme_RC Don’t worry about the English… The main thing is that we can understand what u want to say to us.
@Davidboulanger what’s so funny dude…?
Any problems, you can post it here. You’ll surely find solution.
Also be aware of people trying to make a sale. They’ll trick you into buying.
Personally, I have seen very few who would reply you after they have sold the product.
Re experience, I use Herelink. Herelink has been there in market for quite a long time now. It runs Solex software, which has been improving daily.
Hi Philip or Julien, don’t say theories anymore. Let do 20 km video and show us!
