I’ve recently purchased 4 GPS modules for my project. Out of the 4, only 1 GPS is working properly — the remaining 3 units are not booting up.
Board voltage is fine – I’ve confirmed this with a multimeter.
On the working GPS, I can see the “Upgrade” option under the UAVCAN settings in Mission Planner.
However, on the other 3 units, using the same port, I either get:
A solid white LED, or
A very faint blue hue within the white light.
Due to this, I’m unable to initiate a firmware update on these GPS units.
I’ve attached:
A screenshot showing the UAVCAN upgrade option visible only on the working GPS.
A photo of the LED state on the non-working GPS units.
A copy of my full parameter list for reference.
I’ve followed all the usual setup steps and parameters — and even tried referencing similar issues on this forum — but haven’t come across this specific problem.
I’d greatly appreciate any guidance, suggestions, or potential fixes. Has anyone experienced this kind of issue before?
I am also facing a similar issue after upgrading to copter 4.6.1 on the cube orange+. I am running a cube orange+ with the here 4 I verified the issue is also present using a different cube orange+ running the same firmware version that is configured exactly the same in terms of supporting hardware and the issue remains present connected to that. I did plug the functioning gps into the cube of the original aircraft to verify that is not the case and I was able to verify that the issue is isolated to that gps module. Originally when the issue began I was able to leave the here 4 powered off for a while (~1hr+) and it would boot correctly but if it was rebooted it then went back to white lights. The unit having the issue is on a new build which I have not yet flown though I tested it with a config off of an identical system which is flying.
I am willing to provide any additional information needed or perform any needed testing as I have several unites to test across.
I have included the config for the functioning platform that was tested below I can include additional if needed.
Hello @philip
Just for your Information
All the GPS with this problem has 1.14.2DE07E software version in it.
I have some Here4 GPS which have 1.14.5AC6523C software version which are working fine
Hi @ja_ames can you please check which SW version is running in your Here4
I unfortunately don’t have a way to do that unless you know of something, my cube detects that there is something there and assigns a can id but is unable to detect any details about it. If you have a way to go about retrieving that let me know but I do know that I verified all GPS modules were up to date on 6/9/25 via mission planner.
I did experience a new behavior today though when trying to view that where after ~2 minutes it seemed like it powered off the cube all leds shut off on it as well as on both gps units which were attached. (the broken one and another functional here 4).
