Can't connect CubeOrange+ to GCS after upgrading firmware on Aurelia drone

My issues with connecting to Mission Planner closely align with issues in these threads:
(Skip to ISSUE if you don’t wish to know the context)

I’m working with an Aurelia X4 Standard that came with a CubeOrange+ flashed with Copter v4.5.7 firmware. I was able to connect to GCS just fine, but I was never able to write parameters to the drone after the first day of receiving it, where I enabled a geofence and changed the GPS type.

I wasn’t able to arm the drone due to this message, “Prearm: OpenID AIRPORT SN”. I didn’t know exactly what this meant, but I assumed that this meant that the remote ID wasn’t broadcasting correctly or wasn’t registered. So I registered the serial number through the FAA, but this didn’t solve the issue.

So I researched, and upgrading the firmware was a common solution for the remote ID broadcasting issue. I wasn’t able to upgrade this just through the firmware tab, as it wouldn’t find any firmware versions. So I upgraded through SD card following these instructions exactly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCdXe1UTjK4

ISSUE
So I uploaded the abin file from https://firmware.ardupilot.org/Sub/stable/CubeOrangePlus/ and after power cycling it, it wouldn’t connect to Mission Planner, and in fact wasn’t recognized as a CubeOrangePlus anymore in my COM port (just said serial device). Same issue when trying to connect to QGroundControl.

I then cleared the SD card and uploaded the original 4.5.7 firmware, following the process outlined in the attached thread, “Cube Orange+ firmware not suitable for board”. Still, the issue persists. I am unable to connect to a GCS. The flight controller is solid orange, but I notice that an LED is slowly blinking every second. Also, the drone status LED screen that the Aurelia would usually display upon plugging into my laptop isn’t turning on.

Is it stuck in a bootloader loop? Is there any other way other than going into DFU mode I can try? Is this flight controller just cooked? I have a meeting with the Aurelia support service this afternoon and will hopefully find an answer. HELP IF YOU CAN PLEASE!

Just curious, are you sure that the USB cable that you replaced is also good? I ran into similar behavior when trying to install the firmware for a new CubePilot Orange+, and it turned out that the cause was just a bad USB cable…

Hope it helps

I see an adapter there too, maybe that’s something to rule out.
