GPS Drops in Satellites at 4:12 elapsed time

We are investigating an intermittent “GPS glitch or compass error” issue.

Observed behavior:

  • Satellite count drops sharply during the event

  • HDOP increases during the same time window

  • Horizontal, vertical, and speed accuracy increase

The event lasts approximately ~0.5–1 second.

Timing:

  • The event consistently occurs at approximately 254–255 seconds after boot (~4:12 elapsed time)

  • This timing has been repeatable across multiple flights

  • It occurs regardless of flight mode

  • It also occurs during ground testing with motors off after the same elapsed time

System configuration:

  • Cube Orange+

  • Here 4 Blue

  • Herelink Airunit 1.0

The “GPS Glitch or compass error” message does not announce at each of these events, but these same indicators have occurred each time.
